Syft Technologies Tech Talks #10. Calibration Approaches for Real-Time Analysis

Calibration Approaches for Real-Time Analysis
Dr Barry Prince, Principal Scientist, Syft Technologies, New Zealand

SIFT-MS is inherently quantitative through its application of highly controlled, gas-phase ion-molecule chemistry. However, as for any analytical technique, SIFT-MS can be calibrated in its real-time applications (episode #9 discussed automated calibration).

In this Syft Tech Talk, Dr Barry Prince – a highly experienced Principal Scientist at Syft Technologies – explains when calibration may be required and gives an overview of how it can be achieved for continuous, real-time analysis.

Barry Prince graduated from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, in 2000 with a PhD in physical chemistry. He joined the Syft Technologies team in early 2004 as an R&D scientist. Since then he has contributed to the company’s growth in a wide range of roles, including R&D, direct sales efforts and supporting Syft’s extensive distributor network.
